At first sight of this Wooden Notebook, along with me completely misreading the title of the Kickstarter Campaign, I thought; As beautiful as this notebook looks, I doubt that it is the FIRST wooden notebook... Then I reread the title again, and realised I had missed the main word of the campaign, 'Smart'. The title actually reads: 'The First SMART Wooden Notebook'... Now my question's were, 'What? and a large, 'How?' and oh boy did I set myself out for an extremely interesting read.
The 'Wook' (Yes, I love the name) is Smart because when you place your phone on the 'Wook', your phone knows it!
Using NFC technology and the 'Wook' app, placing your phone on the 'Wook' will allow you to access a variety of apps from your phone without doing a single thing. Using the app you can program which features to activate, whether that be turning on an app like Spotify or Facebook, or activating features on your phone like WiFi or Bluetooth. You can even activate multiple features at once, it's all up to you.
Not only is the technology behind the book great, but the Wook's themselves are beautiful! The wood and the designs etched into the wood are just gorgeous, and plus, each book is completely handcrafted for you. I'd say a perfect combination of technology and beauty.
